Bowhunt for elk (and black bear if desired) in the Colorado Rocky mountains on a 1,150 acre private ranch surrounded by 50,000+ acres of uninhabited public land.  This is not a guided hunt, but the rancher and the caretaker both know the elk patterns and the land, so they can help with your hunt planning.  Lodging at the Copper Spur Ranch bunkhouse is included.  Food and drinks can be added for an additional fee.  Fishing access in the ponds can also be purchased.

This is rugged country. If you would like to explore most of it, it is highly recommended to bring or rent an ATV.  A rental ATV can be provided for an additional fee.

**Additional Hunt Info:** The Copper Spur Ranch sits at an elevation between 7,600 and 9,700 feet above sea level. It backs up to BLM, national forest and other private land (the public land is available for Pursuit hunters), some of which gets above 10,000 feet of elevation.  The hunt area offers a variety of terrain settings, various water sources, and fields that are grazed by cattle.  Some of the public land (like the Radium State Wildlife area [LINK HERE](https://cpw.state.co.us/learn/Maps/RadiumSWA_geo.pdf)) is hard to access without permission from the ranchers, whose property you must cross to pass into public territory.  Only our hunters have permission to pass through the private land to get to the west are of the Radium State Wildlife Area. The entire area is part of the migration path from summer range to winter range for the elk herd, and benefits from having food (cattle grazing fields) and water sources.

Game unit 15 ranks in the top 35% in terms of herd size in Colorado.  As of 2020 the herd in the area was estimated to be 5,080 strong, after the harvest (2021 stats have not been published yet).  Private land hunts in unit 15 had a 47% success rate of harvest in 2020.  And while harvest rates are lower when you include public land only hunts (12% - 19% success for 1st and 4th rifle seasons), our offered hunt blends private and public land.  Overall, in 2020 there were 499 elk harvested in unit 15... we hope you all are part of that total in the coming years!

Antelope Hunting in Eastern Colorado

Newbies (ages 10+) will go with an experienced hunter into the field to learn the techniques and tactics of fair chase hunting.  Students will watch and interact with the hunter as the group pursues antelope in Eastern Colorado on a large private ranch.  What better way to learn than a hands-on lesson in hunting and processing food from the land! A harvest is not guaranteed (lesson #1!), but if successful, students will come home with dinner.   No specialized equipment required.  The leader will be the only shooter / person with a weapon.

- 7:45 Evening Breathwork & Intention Meditation (45min)  
- Lights out 9:30pm 

**Day 2** 

- 7am: Sunrise Morning Breathwork & Meditation (Intended for Freediving) 
- 8am: Breakfast onboard as Allie introduces Freedive Wave 1 Theory 
 - 9am-11:30am: Sailing Cruise, Ocean Wildlife Safari  
 (Lauren as Skipper, Allie will prepare Lunch) 
- 12pm: Anchor and have Lunch onboard
- 1-2pm: Freediving Workshop: Equalization for Freedivers (beginner & advanced techniques)

Mother & Daughter Outdoor Adventure Week - Copper Spur Ranch, Colorado

Fish the inshore flats for snook while they're hot! Then after a few hours, switch boats and head way offshore to fish for grouper, snapper, and other delicious eating fish.

Survival, Independence, and Defense Training in the Colorado Mountains... Red Dawn!

Intense. Immersive. Impactful.  Less than 1% of all Department of Defense candidates make it into Special Operations... you are invited to find out why.

This two night Special Operations experience allows civilians to participate in Special Operations training for a day, accompanied by former and active duty Special Operators. Unlike other experiences, this is not theater. It is not designed to give patrons a meaningless adventure or reinforce unrealistic stereotypes of Special Operations. Patrons are shown what it takes to be in Special Operations, what it is like to stand shoulder to shoulder with real Special Operators, and the cost associated with a lifetime of service in Special Operations. Participants are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement to protect the identity, duty station, and assignment history of active duty Special Operators. 

Full spectrum of Special Forces training including demolitions, automatic weapons (machine guns), hand-to-hand combat, military working dogs, close quarters battle, aerial infiltration (helicopters), rappelling and more.

Special Operations Experience

New hunters will go with an experienced hunter into the field to learn the techniques and tactics of fair chase hunting.  Students will watch and interact with the hunter as the group pursues antelope in Eastern Colorado on a large private ranch (big herds and few people).  What better way to learn than a hands-on lesson in hunting and processing food from the land?! A harvest is not guaranteed (lesson #1!), but if successful, students will come home with dinner.   No specialized equipment required.  The leader will be the only shooter / person with a weapon.   Fees go towards getting access to private hunting land, which dramatically increases the probability of a successful hunt.

And while harvest rates are lower when you include public land only hunts (12% - 19% success for 1st and 4th rifle seasons), our offered hunt blends private and public land, and hunters benefit from elk that seek out cattle fields and try to avoid public land pressure.  Overall, in 2020 there were 499 elk harvested in unit 15... we hope you all are part of that total in 2022!

Spend a night enjoying a campfire dinner, solitude under the stars, and a private ranch cabin.  Away from any city lights in the Colorado Rocky Mountains at 7,600 ft. of elevation between Steamboat and Vail.  Dinner included.

Come enjoy an all-inclusive week (7 days and 6 nights) of mountain **adventures with your sons doing things they will always remember** (fly fishing, mountain biking, shooting targets &  clay pigeons, hiking, the hot springs, tubing down the Colorado River, etc.) at a private ranch in the Rockies between Steamboat Springs and Vail.  Food, drinks, activities, and as much fire wood as you can handle are **all included in the price (up to 6 guests)**.   This is a perfect place to escape the city with your sons, and teach them outdoor skills while enjoying campfires under the stars and a comfortable mountain home.

**Note:** Check-in is at 3pm on the day of arrival and check-out is at 11am.  Reserve the date that corresponds to the first day you want to spend at the Copper Spur Ranch.  Example: if you want to stay from Saturday (check-in) to Friday (check-out), click the Saturday date.

**Additional Info:** The Copper Spur Ranch sits at an elevation between 7,600 and 9,700 feet above sea level. It backs up to BLM, national forest and other private land, some of which gets above 10,000 feet of elevation.  The area offers a variety of terrain settings, various water sources, and fields that are grazed by cattle.  The public land is hard to access without permission from the ranchers, whose property you must cross to pass into public territory.  Only our guests have permission from the rancher to pass through the private land to get to the public access points. The entire area is part of the migration path from summer range to winter range for the elk herd.
