Spend the day drifting down one of the river systems near Cody, Wyoming, casting flies to hungry trout. The Clark's Fork of the Yellowstone, The Bighorn, The North Fork, The Greybull, The Lower Shoshone....all are less than an hour from Cody. 

All equipment needed will be provided, including PFD's, fly rods, reels, flies, and snacks.  However, for colder weather, you may want to bring waders. 

The drift will take place in a 3 man raft designed for fly fishing. No experience necessary. If needed, we can spend an hour or so practicing fly casting and going over common fly fishing tactics if needed.

Fly Fishing Float Trip

Always wanted to learn how to fly fish but never had anyone to help you?  Wyoming is filled with Blue Ribbon trout streams, and catching them on a fly rod is amongst the most rewarding and relaxing way to catch them!  After some casting lessons, we will hit one of the numerous waterways near Cody, chasing Cutthroat, Rainbow, and Brown Trout. We will even have a chance at an Artic Grayling in some areas! Come during the summer to watch them take imitation grasshoppers on the surface! There is no 'bite' like it. 

What we supply: 
Fly rods and reels
Flies, tackle, and other fishing accessories
Snacks for the day

What you’ll need: 
Waders and wading boots (during summer, you may be able to 'wet wade')
Sunscreen
Hat and sunglasses

Introduction to Fly Fishing the West

Want to do it all? Learn how to cast? Learn about the fish and the insects they eat? How about learning how to tie your own fishing flies?!? Do it all in a day. 

Casting a fly rod is intimidating for most, but it shouldn’t be. With some simple instructions, most people are casting well enough to fish within minutes. While it takes a lot longer to ‘master’ fly casting, that’s not what this day is about. 

How about tying your own flies? Most people that are interested in fly fishing are also interested in tying their own flies, but don’t know where to start with obtaining the tools and supplies needed to start. Let me worry about that. I guarantee that you’ll be able to whip something up (with plenty of instruction of course) that will catch fish. 

So now you’ve tied a handful of flies and learned how to cast….now what? Let’s go fishing! We will wade any number of the rivers in and around the Bighorn Basin of Wyoming chasing brown, rainbow, cutthroat, and brook trout!

Beginner's Guide to Fly Fishing; Tie a fly, learn to cast, and then catch a fish! 

Spend 1/2 a day walking and wading the rivers near Cody, Wyoming chasing Rainbow, Brown, and Cutthroat trout. 

From first timers to seasoned fisherman, spend the day chasing trout with a fly rod. Instruction will be given as needed to make sure you're ready to fish.  Cody has several river systems within just a short drive. We will follow the hatch, fishing whatever system is producing the most fish during your trip. 

What we supply: Fly rods and reels, flies, tackle, and other fishing accessories, snacks for the day.
